Description of Program
CREOSA (Center for Research and Education in Optical Sciences and Apllications) is a research program in the field of Optical Sciences. The program, funded by a CREST award from the National Science Foundation (NSF) began in September 2006. CREOSA is under the directon of DR. Noureddine Melikechi who is also the Chairperson of the Department of Physics and Pre-Engineering at delaware State University. The Centers research areas include Lidar Systems, Virtual Reality Goggles, Laser Spectroscopy of Complex Samples, Images Processing, Data Mining, Optical Solitions, Laser Gyroscope, Biopnotonics, Atomic and Molecular Optics, Biomedical Imaging, Atomic Clocks and Astrobiology.

Requirements
The CREOSA Program offers a full-time Graduate Research Fellowship position to graduate students in Natural Science, technology, Physic/Pre-Engineering, or mathematics. The graduate fellowship program will allow students to participate in a CREOSA supported research program for the 12 month duration of the fellowship. This award carries a $20,000 stipend and full graduate tution waiver.
